Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Decly collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Decly application and the Decly website at https://declyai.com.
1. Who we are
Decly ("Decly", "we", "us") provides an educational and communication-support tool that helps parents, caregivers, educators and professionals practice declarative language. You can contact us at any time at support@declyai.com.
2. Information you provide
- Account and authentication information. When you create an account we store your email address and an authentication record. You can sign up with email and password or with Google Sign-In. We never see or store your password in readable form, and we do not receive your Google password.
- Display name. An optional name shown in the app and, if you use Family & Groups, to other members of your groups.
- Profiles. The child or person profiles you create (such as a name or label and any notes or preferences you enter).
- Prompts and content you submit. The situations, phrases and other text you enter to receive declarative language suggestions.
- Support and feedback. Messages you send through the in-app feedback form, the pilot request form, the account deletion request form, or by email, including the contact details you include.
3. Information created by using Decly
- AI-generated responses. Suggestions generated in response to your prompts.
- History and favorites. Prompts and responses you keep, and items you mark as favorites.
- Settings and progress. App preferences, the active profile, and XP/streak-style progress values.
- Usage counters. Counts of AI requests used per day, to enforce free and membership limits and to protect the service from abuse. For signed-out visitors we store a one-way hashed form of the network address together with a daily count — we do not store the raw address and cannot use the hash to identify you.
- Family & Groups data. Groups you create or join, group membership records, invite codes, and snapshots of the profiles and favorites you explicitly choose to share with a group.
- Membership and billing records. Your membership tier, status and renewal dates, and identifiers linking your account to your payment record.
- Administrative logs. Records of support or administrative actions taken on an account (for example granting or revoking a membership), kept for accountability.
Decly does not request or require special-category health information. Please avoid entering diagnoses, clinical records or other sensitive details you do not need in prompts or profiles.
4. How we use information
- To provide the Decly app, generate suggestions and save your content.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To sync your data across devices for eligible memberships.
- To operate Family & Groups sharing that you initiate.
- To process memberships, donations, renewals and cancellations.
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
- To enforce usage limits, prevent abuse and keep the service reliable.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Local storage and cookies
Decly stores data in your browser or device (local storage) so the app works quickly and so signed-out visitors can try it. This includes your settings, profiles, history, favorites and progress, scoped to the signed-in account when you are logged in. Authentication uses secure storage and cookies necessary to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
6. Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of processors, each acting on our instructions and only for the purposes described here:
- Supabase — database, authentication and secure storage of your account and app data.
- OpenAI — processes the prompts you submit to generate suggestions. Prompts and profile context you include are transmitted for processing.
- Stripe — payment processing for memberships and donations. Card details are entered with Stripe and are never received or stored by Decly.
- Resend — delivery of transactional and support email.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — deliver and run the Decly website and application.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or in connection with a business transfer.
7. Family & Groups and shared content
Sharing is always initiated by you. When you share a profile or favorite with a group, a snapshot of that content becomes visible to the members of that group, along with your display name. Members you invite can see what has been shared with the group for as long as the share exists. Removing a share stops future access, but other members may already have seen or copied the content.
8. Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with database-level access controls so that your records are only accessible to you and to people you have shared them with. Administrative access is limited and logged. No service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to address issues promptly.
9. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Content you delete in the app (such as history items, favorites or profiles) is removed from our systems, though it may remain briefly in backups. Billing and transaction records are retained as long as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Aggregated or de-identified usage counts may be kept indefinitely.
10. Account deletion
You may request deletion of your Decly account at any time. See Account Deletion for what is removed and how to submit a request. Deletion requests are handled manually by our team and are not instantaneous. Information we are legally required to retain (for example payment and tax records) may be retained as required by law.
11. Children's privacy
Decly is designed for adults — parents, caregivers, educators and professionals — and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). Profiles created in Decly are created and controlled by the adult account holder, who is responsible for the information they choose to enter. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Much of this is available directly in the app; for anything else, email support@declyai.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
13. International transfers
Decly and its service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Decly evolves. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email.
